Alyssa's Thoughts

Today I decided that I wanted to give the world some of my poetry. I would love to be a writer one day and I hope this is a good start. Please let me know what you think. This poem is entitled, I Decline.

I remember long walks on the beach,
your Adidas cologne,
and your warm gentle kiss,
hand in hand we walked.

The sound of the waves,
the smell of the ocean,
being in your arms,
is what I love best.

Scattered roses about my bed,
lovely scented candles around the room,
him singing to me the song of the angels,
then making passionate love to me.

Another day the sun arises,
I awaken quite slowly,
Only to realize my hopes swept away.
There he stood kissing Amelia, the town whore.

I fall and I stumble,
reaching for your soul,
With every breathe I take,
my heart dies slowly.

Fire and hatred burns deep inside my crimson core,
to my left he was,
smuggly smiling and laughing,
while he and Amelia made beautiful music.

My vivid past fades for its final showing,
as he stares deep into my eyes.
I'm sorry I must decline.
Love is but hell that slowly tortures your soul.
